If you rode a bike back in the 70's and 80's you know that today's bikes handle a lot better than anything that was on the road in those days. A lot of that improvement came from the move to radial tires, improved suspensions and lighter components. Bike handling has continued to improve in the 21st century, and mass centralization is one of the concepts that manufacturers are using to keep the rubber side down.
